Prayagraj: A meeting of Prayagraj Division officials with the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee was held in the Sankalp Auditorium of Prayagraj Division Office. The meeting was chaired by Divisional Railway Manager/ Prayagraj, Mr. Rajneesh Agarwal. Additional Divisional Railway Manager/ General, Mr. Deepak Kumar; Additional Divisional Railway Manager/ Infra, Mr. Dhananjay Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Harimohan; Senior Divisional Operations Manager/ Coordination, Mr. Shivam Sharma; Senior Divisional Engineer/ Coordination, Md. Javed Akhtar; Deputy Chief Traffic Manager/ Kanpur, Mr. Akanshu Govil and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/General, Shri Deepak Kumar welcomed all the members by presenting them with planters. The Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (RRC) is a representative body of the Railway Administration and users and holds periodic meetings with the Railway Administration to discuss measures to improve the services provided by the Railways to rail users.
Addressing the members of the Rail Users’ Advisory Committee, Divisional Railway Manager/ Prayagraj, Mr. Rajneesh Agrawal, said, “You present to us the problems, expectations, and suggestions of the general public and rail passengers. Your valuable suggestions have always been helpful in improving passenger amenities and accelerating development projects in the public interest.” As a result of the teamwork of all departments within the Prayagraj Division, the division is continuously achieving new milestones. Providing safe, secure, and convenient rail travel is our top priority. Development work is underway at various major stations in the division under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Additionally, work is being rapidly undertaken to provide modern, world-class passenger amenities through the redevelopment of Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central stations.
On this occasion, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Harimohan, briefed the gathering through a PPT presentation about the division’s achievements, passenger amenities, and action plans. He stated that Prayagraj Division provides railway services in 21 districts through 17 passenger reservation centers, 27 UTS-cum-PRS, and 126 UTS stations. Prayagraj Division has 29 JTBS (Jansadharan Ticket Booking Sevaks) at 10 stations. Prayagraj Division has 156 ATVMs at 37 stations, and 202 facilitators, including four persons with disabilities, have been appointed to operate these machines. Cashless transactions are also available on ATVMs through QR codes. Prayagraj Division serves over 200,000 passengers daily. Prayagraj’s average passenger revenue is approximately ₹5.3 crore per day.
Wi-Fi access has been provided at 115 commercial stations in the Prayagraj Division. 1,659 CCTV cameras have been installed for security at 75 stations in the Prayagraj Division. To ensure improved cleanliness across the division, major stations and trains are being thoroughly cleaned by machine.
The members of the Rail Users Consultative Committee had an in-depth discussion on various topics like stoppage of trains at various stations, change in train timings, foot over bridges, road under bridges, cleanliness in trains, availability and price of food items, concessional tickets for senior citizens and suggestions for running new trains.
Divisional Railway Manager/ Prayagraj, Mr. Rajneesh Agrawal, assured the members of the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee that the issues raised by them would be resolved soon. The Divisional Railway Manager, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager thanked everyone for bringing the public’s concerns to the attention of the Railway.
