Prayagraj: Rotary Prayagraj Platinum, inspired by the spirit of service, organized a free mega orthopaedic medical camp for senior citizens on the occasion of “Bone and Joint Week” on Sunday at Preeti Nursing Home, Chintamani Road, George Town, Prayagraj. This was the first free orthopaedic clinic for senior citizens in the district, which was inaugurated by Rotary District Governor Rotarian Dr. Ashutosh Agarwal. This camp was organized under the Rotary Platinum Bone and Joint Project, under the guidance of District President and Director, Indian Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Ashutosh Agarwal.

The aim of this camp was to provide medical facilities to senior citizens suffering from bone and joint related diseases, who are deprived of regular treatment. This camp will now be available free of cost every Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Preeti Nursing Home. The camp was conducted by renowned orthopaedist Dr. Anuj Gupta (MS Ortho.) and his team of expert doctors.

On this occasion, more than 100 senior citizens took advantage of the camp. Their uric acid, BMD (bone density), X-ray tests were done and physiotherapy consultation was also provided. Along with this, all the beneficiaries were also given free multivitamin injections and essential medicines.

Rotarian Dr. Pratik Pandey, President of Rotary Prayagraj Platinum, played a special role in the success of the camp. He said, “The aim of Rotary is not just to serve, but to bring positive change in the society through service. This orthopedic camp not only shows our commitment towards the health of the elderly, but it also teaches us that even small initiatives can bring about big changes. In the coming time, we will look forward to expanding the scope of such services.”

Secretary Rotarian Sanjay Talwar said, “This camp is a strong example of Rotary’s social service, which is benefiting the neglected section of the society.” Charter President and Club Trainer Rotarian Ritesh Singh called it “an important step in Rotary’s public service chain”. Rotarian Dr. Sharad Jain said, “In today’s fast-paced life, neglecting the health of the elderly is common. This camp will not only provide them relief, but will also remind society of its responsibilities towards them.” Senior patients were identified from old-age homes and other places and brought through buses and other means, in which Rotarian Apurva had special cooperation.

In addition, excellent snacks were arranged for all the patients by Shri Gopal Shankar Chopra, father of former President Rotarian Nitin Chopra, which was appreciated by all. The following Rotarian members were specially present in the camp: Anuj Kesarwani, Preeti Kesarwani, Ekta Talwar, Sandeep Jain, Manish Garg, Ajay Sharma, Alpana Sharma, Nitin Chopra, Dr. Rajni Shukla, Pramod Bansal, etc.
