Prayagraj: Students from the Department of Mass Communication at the Regional Centre of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, Prayagraj, had an inspiring and memorable experience, when they had the opportunity to travel on the new Vande Bharat Express train from Varanasi to Khajuraho. This journey was not just a journey, but a vivid experience of modern India’s technological advancements, the pace of development, and the practical wisdom of journalism.
Dr. Akhtar Alam, coordinator of the Department of Mass Communication, was also present on this educational trip. Describing the trip as a field learning experience for the students, he said that such opportunities connect students to the real world and broaden their personalities and perspectives. Prominent participants on the trip included Diksha Dwivedi, Pragya Mishra, Ayushi Upadhyay, Rajkumar, and Dr. Harpreet Kaur. All the students put their learning into practice through reporting, photography, interviews, and documentation.
On the same day, the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, flagged off the Varanasi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express train from Varanasi Railway Station. The Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was also present on this historic occasion. The station was decorated with flowers, flags, and lights. The inauguration was marked by tremendous enthusiasm among passengers and local residents. The train also received a warm welcome at the Chheoki station in Prayagraj, where people expressed pride in this modern achievement of India.
The Vande Bharat Express has established a new rail link between Purvanchal and Bundelkhand. Equipped with modern amenities, this train covers a journey of approximately 10 hours in just 7 hours and 45 minutes. Passengers are provided with amenities such as comfortable seats, digital displays, Wi-Fi connectivity, and automatic doors. It not only saves time and convenience for travelers but is also injecting new momentum into the region’s tourism and economic development.
Students from the Hindi University Prayagraj Centre interacted with passengers during the journey, recorded their experiences, captured station activities on camera, and analyzed this historic moment from a media perspective. They realized that Vande Bharat is not just a train, but a symbol of “the technological thinking and self-reliance of New India.”
The trip instilled in the students a renewed sense of energy, responsibility, and learning. They not only enjoyed the trip but also understood that the true purpose of journalism is to identify the changing dimensions of society and convey a true picture to the public.
This journey on the Vande Bharat Express was filled with experience, excitement, and inspiration for the media students of Hindi University—giving them a vivid experience of being a part of India’s development story. The support of the Railway’s Public Relations Department, including Dr. Amit Malviya, Senior Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, was greatly appreciated in organizing this journey. The Honorary Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kumud Sharma, the Academic Director of the Center, Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Dubey, and the faculty of the University congratulated them for being a part of this memorable journey.
