Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi represented Uttar Pradesh at the Board of Trade meeting held in the national capital, Delhi, on Tuesday, chaired by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and attended by Minister of State Jitin Prasada. At the meeting, Minister Nandi presented Uttar Pradesh’s export policy and progress plan to the Union Minister and ministers from various states.

Speaking at a Board of Trade meeting, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said the recently approved Rs. 25,060 crore Export Promotion Mission will include targeted schemes to help landlocked states increase their export competitiveness. He also suggested a stronger center-state partnership to boost exports.

Minister Nandi said that our double-engine government has given special priority to export promotion, in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a result of the continuous guidance from the Government of India, Uttar Pradesh’s exports have experienced unprecedented growth, more than doubling over the past eight years. Uttar Pradesh’s exports have increased from Rs. 84,000 crore to Rs. 1,86,000 crore.

Exports have been given a boost through the UP International Trade Show. Our local producers and artisans have received advance orders from buyers in various countries until 2027. A new Export Policy 2025-30 has been promulgated to achieve the set export targets. For the first time, this policy includes merchant exporters in addition to manufacturers. Additionally, exporters in the service sector have also been provided with facilities. The annual assistance under International Marketing Assistance has been increased from Rs. 16 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh. Under the Gatewayport Scheme, the annual assistance amount per exporter has been increased from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh. The Air Freight Scheme has been increased from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh.

A one-time assistance of Rs. 3 lakh is provided for the first year’s listing fees for onboarding on international e-commerce platforms. Thus, the Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Policy 2025-30 is a bouquet of new reforms and gifts. This policy will prove to be a milestone in increasing Uttar Pradesh’s expected share in India’s overall exports. Uttar Pradesh is fully committed to taking the export ecosystem to new heights and new momentum, in line with the vision of the Government of India.
