Prayagraj: The historic campus of St. Joseph’s College was enveloped in an atmosphere of profound solemnity and vibrant celebration as the institution observed its landmark annual event, the Annual Award Day 2026. The morning commenced precisely on schedule with a reverent and moving Bible Reading delivered by Mrs. A. Bhatty. Her choice of scripture underscored the core values of wisdom, humility, and service, setting an elevated spiritual baseline for the entire assembly, Immediately following, the Prayer Song was beautifully rendered by the Junior Choir. The young vocalists filled the auditorium with harmonious notes that invoked divine blessings upon the day’s events.

In keeping with traditional customs, the Ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp was subsequently performed by the esteemed dignitaries present on stage. The Mistress of Ceremonies, Mrs. S. Shukla, took to the podium to deliver a polished Introduction of the Chief Guest, presenting Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza, the distinguished Principal of St. Joseph’s School, Naini, to the gathering. This was swiftly followed by a warm and elegant Floral Welcome by the Principal, who presented a fresh bouquet as a token of the college’s deep respect and hospitality.The academic honors phase officially began with the Prize Distribution for Classes LKG and UKG. The youngest Josephites walked across the stage to receive their very first accolades, a moment that drew immense applause from the audience. Celebrating this early milestone, the stage was instantly transformed by a vibrant Special Dance Performance by LKG and UKG students, whose synchronized movements, colorful costumes, and joyful expressions captivated everyone present.The momentum of recognition continued with the second block of awards: the Prize Distribution for Classes 1, 2, and 3. These young students were acknowledged for their consistency and foundational excellence. Highlighting the institution’s commitment to the fine arts, the award distribution was followed by a masterful instrumental Performance by the Junior Section Students. The instrumentalists demonstrated exceptional command over their instruments, executing a melody that earned a standing ovation from the crowd.The final tier of foundational scholastic honors was reached during the Prize Distribution for Classes 4 and 5, where students who topped their respective sections were duly rewarded. To conclude the cultural tapestry of the day, a final Special Dance Performance by the Junior Section Students was showcased, blending thematic storytelling with high-energy choreography.

The ceremony then transitioned to the presentation of the institution’s most coveted elite recognitions. The highly revered Manas Memorial Award was bestowed upon its recipient, Mohd. Wali Adil from SC, in the memory of Late Manas Singh by Dr Manoj Kumar Singh, Senior Hindi Lecturer in St. Joseph’s College, Prayagraj and Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, Teacher of English and a PTI too, in Junior High School, Azampur, Bahariya. Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, is also the General Secretary of the State Women Teachers’ Association, and the recipient of the Best Teacher Award by the State Government in 2021. The award given to a Class 5 student is in recognition of outstanding character, and followed immediately by the presentation of the prestigious Emerine Shanti Singh Memorial Award to Akash Pandey of class 6C. Both awards recognized students who perfectly embodied the college’s ideal of excellence in both character and performance.

In a beautiful gesture acknowledging that student success is built upon institutional dedication, the chief guest proceeded to the Presentation of 100% Attendance Awards to Teachers. These teachers were Ms. Preeti Kushwaha, Ms. Shabbo, Mrs. Janet Bennett who were from the KG Section. From the Primary Section: Ms. Lynette Marina Moore, Ms. Asha Isaac, Ms. Agnes Collis, Ms. Fenella Ann D’Souza, Ms. Rechal Xavier, Ms. Vandana Mary Pascal, Ms. Donna Geraldine Bennett, Ms. Tanya Agrawal.

This public recognition underscored the unwavering devotion and constancy of the faculty members who did not miss a single day of academic duty.

Following these presentations, the Chief Guest Speaks segment commenced. Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza delivered an inspiring, intellectually stimulating address. He challenged the student body to seek knowledge not merely for material advancement, but for societal transformation, emphasizing that real education is measured by personal integrity. A formal Presentation of the Memento to the Chief Guest was then conducted by the school management as an expression of enduring gratitude.

As the ceremony drew toward its conclusion, the assembly received a powerful Exhortation by the Principal. He reminded the boys of the college motto, Semper Sursum, urging them to maintain their momentum and always aim higher in every future endeavor. A comprehensive and heartfelt Vote of Thanks was elegantly proposed by Rev. Fr. Walter D’Silva, expressing gratitude to the organizers, support staff, parents, and participants who made the day a resounding success. The entire congregation then stood at absolute attention for the solemn rendition of the National Anthem, bringing the magnificent Annual Award Day 2026 to its official and dignified close.
