Federation submitted letter of demand to GM & letter of support to AISMA

Prayagraj: National President of Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF) Comrade Narsingh Kumar and National General Secretary Manoj Pandey issued a joint statement today strongly condemning the inhuman incident of public assault, misbehavior and dragging of Deputy Station Superintendent (Deputy SS) by RPF staff in the station premises. The Federation expressed deep anger over this incident and demanded that the railway service of the guilty RPF personnel who have destroyed the security of the railways with their inhuman act should be terminated.

The two leaders, Comrade Narsingh Kumar and Comrade Manoj Pandey, jointly said, “We are all employees of the Indian Railways first and foremost, and it is our fundamental duty to respect and cooperate with each other at the workplace. No employee in the Indian Railways is big or small. Safe and secure railway operations are possible only through mutual cooperation, harmony, and loyalty among all railway employees. A dispute or misunderstanding that could have been resolved in a dignified manner by sitting in a closed chamber, through mutual discussion, or by bringing it to the notice of higher officials, was made a public spectacle, thus tarnishing the reputation of a dutiful railway officer. This is highly condemnable and unforgivable.”

The Federation fully supports the demand for justice raised by the wife of the victim, stating that when an employee’s honor has been publicly violated, he or she should be treated accordingly. The victim’s family has suffered immense mental trauma and severe depression due to this incident, with the victim’s wife even taking a suicidal step. It is the administration’s moral responsibility to restore their honor and self-respect.

The four guilty RPF personnel have been suspended, but the Federation is not satisfied with this. Until the guilty RPF personnel publicly and unconditionally apologize for their actions, the anger within the victim’s family and all railway employees will not subside.

In this regard, the Federation has submitted a letter of support to AISMA and a memorandum of demands to the General Manager, North Central Railway today, in which the main demands are: 1. All the guilty RPF personnel who indulged in indecent and inhuman behaviour in the station premises should publicly admit their mistake and apologise to the victim officer, his family and the railway community.

2. Ensure fair departmental inquiry against the suspended employees and take strict legal action like dismissal from service so that such a compromise is not made with the dignity of any other employee in future.

3. The victim officer and his family should be immediately provided high level administrative security and mental support so that they can overcome any unpleasant situation.

Has been asked for: The Indian Railway Employees Federation calls on railway employees across the country to maintain peace and restraint and unite against this oppressive act. If complete justice is not ensured in this case, the Federation will be forced to launch a massive movement to defend the dignity of railway workers.
