Prayagraj: As part of the Prayagraj Police Commissionerate’s ongoing campaign against criminals, two accused wanted in a bomb blast case were arrested in a joint operation by Kareli Police Station, the SOG City Team, and the Surveillance Cell (City Zone). Police recovered three illegal improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and two mobile phones from the accused. According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Arman, son of Masharrat Khan (resident of Karamat Ki Chowki, Kareli) and Amir, son of Haider (resident of 60 Feet Road, Kareli). Both were arrested late Monday night from Alina City Mod, Kareli area. Investigation revealed that the two accused, along with their accomplice, had thrown crude bombs at a house in GTB Nagar and threatened to kill the victim’s family. Following the incident, all the accused fled and were preparing to flee the city. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their crimes and revealed the entire conspiracy.
In this case, case number 139/2026 is registered at Kareli police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act. Police stated that a search is underway for the other absconding accused and further legal action is being taken in the case. The joint action of Kareli Police Station, SOG city team and surveillance cell under the leadership of Kareli Police Station in-charge is being considered an important success towards crime control.
