Mourning on burning embers and ancestral chaining with sharp knives organised by Tehaffuze Aza Society in Dariyabad

Prayagraj: In memory of the torture inflicted on the sick of Karbala and the fourth Imam Zainul Abedin after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain by handcuffing them, shackling them to their feet and putting a rakhi around their neck by the Yazidi army, mourning was observed on the 25th of Muharram by walking barefoot on burning embers in the vast grounds of Imambara Nawab Begum Bada Ghar on behalf of Tehaffuze Aza Society in Dariyabad. Under the guidance of Najeeb Allahabadi, Nayab Baliyavi gave the presentation and Maulana Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Syed Zameer Abbas Jafri Sahib Qibla narrated the story of the atrocities inflicted on the martyred Imam Zainul Abedin. Under the chairmanship of Imam Juma Syed Hasan Raza Zaidi Sahib Qibla, Khateeb Ahlul Bayt Ashraf Abbas Khan delivered the speech. After turning off all the lights in the grounds, including the main house, the coffin of Imam Zainul Abedin was taken out in candlelight and incense burner, while Ghazi Abbas’s Alam Mubarak was also carried along. Young people, waving red and green flags, walked barefoot on burning embers in a procession, mourning. Members of the Anjumans simultaneously performed the ritual of suffixing chains equipped with sharp knives. According to Yasir Sibtain, organizer and member of the Tehaffuz-e-Aza Society, three names were drawn from the receipts issued to believers for two hundred rupees, which would be sent to visit shrines in Iraq and Iran. A large number of devotees from far and wide attended the mourning ceremony. A grand event was held in Bisouna Sadat on the occasion of Sajjad, where Shuja Mirza recited the “Sorrow and Salam” under the guidance of Shafqat Abbas Pasha. Sabzwari and Ehtesham Hussain gave the presentation. Maulana Zeeshan Haider addressed the gathering. Maulana Amirur Rizvi made the atmosphere mournful by his speech. Anjuman Zeenatul Aza Amhat Sultanpur, Anjuman Abbasia Dadupur, Anjuman Abbasia Rani Mandi, Anjuman Hussainia Qadeem Dariyabad, Anjuman Shabbiria Rani Mandi, Anjuman Masoomiya Karaili raised the voice of mourning and lamentation. The program was completed by the organizer Anjuman Zulfeqaria Imambara Qadeem Bisona. Shahid Pradhan thanked all the mourning associations and those who participated.
