Even after 21 days, police groping in dark, 3 accused sent to jail
Prayagraj: Even after 21 days, four named accused in the sensational bombing and firing incident at a property dealer’s Thar in Puramufti’s Bamrauli village remain at large. Among the absconding accused is a relative of Atiq Ahmed’s shooter, Abid Pradhan. The victim’s family is terrified by the failure to arrest the accused and has expressed fear for their lives.
According to the police, Shoaib, Abu Talha, Danish, and Shamsulain, named in the case, are still at large. Salim was arrested on July 7th, and Ehtesham and Abu Uzaifa were arrested on July 8th and sent to jail. All three already face several criminal charges.
Investigations have revealed that the absconding Danish is the son-in-law of Atiq’s shooter, Abid Pradhan. Shamshulain is said to have more than half a dozen cases registered against him. Meanwhile, accused Abu Talha has filed an application for anticipatory bail in court, which is scheduled for hearing on Tuesday. According to police records, three cases have been filed against the accused in the past five months. An FIR was also filed against them for the attack on two brothers returning from prayers on February 26th and for the attack on a youth in Jhapiya village on May 30th. It is noteworthy that on July 5th, at around 6:30 pm, attackers in Bamrauli village targeted property dealer Mashroor’s Thar vehicle, detonating bombs and firing indiscriminately. The vehicle was damaged in the incident. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, the video of which also went viral. The victim, Mashroor, alleges that the attackers used rifles, pistols, and bombs with the intention of killing him. However, the arrested accused, Salim, admitted to firing the pistol during interrogation. Puramufti police station in-charge Avinash Kumar Singh stated that raids are being conducted continuously to search for the four absconding named accused. One accused has filed an anticipatory bail application, while efforts are underway to arrest the other accused.
