Prayagraj: Inaugural Edition of St. Mary’s Model United Nations (SMUN) 2026 concluded on Thursday successfully at St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Prayagraj, after two days of stimulating debates, diplomacy and critical thinking. Dr. Shreya Pandey, the esteemed alumna of SMC, presently working as a Resident Plastic Surgeon in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Vivekananda Polyclinic & Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She motivated the students with her illustrious achievements and elucidated the importance of balancing academics with co-curricular activities.
The second day witnessed intensive committee sessions where delegates engaged in moderated and unmoderated caucuses, negotiated resolutions, and demonstrated exceptional research and public speaking skills while addressing the pressing problems concerning globally. The concluding Ceremony marked the culmination of the conference in the presence of the Esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Shreya Pandey, the Manager Reverend Sr. Sumita, the Principal Rev. Sr. Lissy, the Vice- Principal Rev. Sr. Namita, Faculty members, Executive Board members, Secretariat and delegates.
Outstanding delegates were awarded for their exemplary performances. The prestigious Best Delegation Trophy was presented to Boys High School for their extraordinary performance exhibiting teamwork, and leadership. The manager, Reverend Sr. Sumita congratulated the participants and encouraged them to promote peace in their dealings. The Principal Rev. Sr. Lissy applauded the efforts of all the students for months of hard work that has gone into making this event a grand success. She urged the students to initiate healthy discussion, stimulate innovative solutions and compassionate approach to problems. The two day conference came to a close with renewed inspiration, reinforcing the values of global citizenship, leadership, and peaceful dialogue while setting a strong foundation for future editions of SMUN.
