Ateva organised a massive Pension Tiranga Yatra from Diet to Subhash Square
Prayagraj: On the call of the state leadership of Ateva Pension Restoration Forum, Uttar Pradesh, a huge Pension Tiranga Yatra was organised by Ateva Prayagraj from DIET Prayagraj to Subhash Chowraha as part of the Pension Tiranga Yatra organised at all the district headquarters of the state on Friday. A large number of teachers, employees and officials of various organisations participated in the Yatra. During this, loud slogans were raised in support of the restoration of the old pension and a pledge was taken to fight unitedly for the restoration of the pension.
District President Jitendra Kumar, who led the program, said that the old pension is a right for all teachers and employees. The government should restore the old pension system to ensure the future security of employees. Addressing a meeting held before the march, ATETVA State Organization Minister Ashok Kanojia said that the ongoing fight for the restoration of the old pension and against privatization will only be successful when all teachers and employees unite and raise their voices. He said that pensions are an important issue related to the social security of employees in their old age. Danish Imran and Sanjay Patel of the State IT Cell termed the mandatory TET exam as against the interest of teachers and demanded reconsideration of it.
Ravi Shankar Mishra, media in-charge of ATETVA Prayagraj and employee leader, said that if the government talks about equality and social justice, then the pension system for MPs and MLAs should also be reconsidered. He said that MPs and MLAs do not hold regular government jobs, so why should they and their families be given pension benefits? He demanded that the pension and family pension system given to MPs and MLAs be abolished and that the country’s teachers and employees who have spent their entire service period in government service be given the right to the old pension. He said that there should not be two separate pension systems in one country—the system that is appropriate for employees should also be applicable for public representatives.
District General Secretary R.K. Yadav, Women’s Cell President Neelam Singh and Anjana Singh appealed to attend the ATEV rally in Lucknow on September 25th in large numbers to make the event a success.
