Prayagraj: On the occasion of International Labour’s Day, a meeting was organized by the City Congress Committee at the party office , Chowk under the president ship of City Congress President Fuzail Hashmi. During the meeting, leaders raised the voice for improving the living standards of workers and laborers.
Speaking on the occasion of May Day, Congress leaders highlighted the immense contribution of workers towards nation’s development. They stated that despite their hard work and dedication, the condition of laborers is still not satisfactory. Workers are still not receiving wages according to the prescribed standards, which remains a matter of serious concern. It was also said that the disparity in wage rates across different states of the country is creating dissatisfaction among workers.
They emphasized that with rising inflation, the government’s responsibility should not remain limited only to increasing wages, but should also focus on improving the overall quality of life of workers. Congress members also paid tribute to the workers who lost their lives during the historic labour rights movement in Chicago on this very day.
