Complaint lodged with the Police Commissioner
Prayagraj: Advocate Ajay Vishwakarma of the Allahabad High Court has sent a complaint to the Police Commissioner, Prayagraj against Sub-Inspector (SI) Navneet Singh and others posted at the Sarai Inayat police station, leveling serious allegations of misuse of power, entering a house without a valid order, indecent behaviour with women, issuing threats and illegal interference in a private land dispute.
According to the complaint, on July 24, 2026, at approximately 1:20 p.m., advocate Ajay Vishwakarma was attending to his work at the Allahabad High Court. His wife called to inform him that police from the Sarai Inayat police station had arrived at their home in two vehicles. It is alleged that the two black Scorpios had no license plates and only had “Advocate” written on them.
The complaint states that SI Navneet Singh and other police officers intervened in a private land dispute between the lawyer’s father and uncle, allegedly saying, “We have come and will leave only after we plow the field.” The complainant described this as an abuse of police authority and an attempt to exert pressure in favor of one party.
The lawyer alleges that upon receiving information about the incident, he immediately contacted the station in-charge, Sarai Inayat, by phone. The police officers then left, but before leaving, his wife was subjected to abusive behavior, abuse, and was allegedly threatened with the words, “The application is pending, we have to arrest you.”
The complaint also states that if the police did not have a warrant or other valid legal order from a competent court, then entering the house in this manner and threatening the women of the family is against the law.
Ajay Vishwakarma has claimed that the entire incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed at his residence and the footage will be made available to the investigating agencies if required.
The complaint to the Police Commissioner sought an impartial and high-level investigation against SI Navneet Singh, preservation of electronic evidence including CCTV footage, departmental and legal action if the allegations are found to be true, security for the family and a ban on police interference in private land disputes.
